Liana was our first guest ever from Ireland, and shared some fun sessions at the home bay and even at Villarube! We went for an unlikely surf check and scored the break almost all to ourselves, with waist to shoulder high peeler! An old friend from our shaping seasons at Diedamskopf, Andre came to the camp and had his first go at surfing! It was a bit frustrating for him, as a good shredder on snow and skate, but he got a little experience in, and will no doubt be back for more! Bianca also just started to surf. An artist with a fresh eye… we hope that she will seriously consider making a t-shirt design for us!

Ruza got herself into a little bit of situation when her board damaged her teeth, and she also needed a couple of stitches from the ER. Luckily Ferrol’s hospital had her in and out in less than an hour. This happened right before her departure, but she had reported via Facebook that she is all fixed up. Julia came from Cologne but has surfed many summers in Portugal.

Pinti is back for more filming action. He left us end of May, but is more for some surf and sun. He’ll be around into July which means more edits! We’ve seen some summer conditions in the surf this June. We surfed the home bay a lot, which is very nice as we can watch from home with binoculars what’s peaking along the beach, all the way to Lago.

The Rohrmoser Roman came by with Bella on his way back to the mountains from Portugal. He had spent a month down there with some Zillertaler homies and he showed us some of his moves chasing for action. Early month we also had new addition to Team Zillertal… Lisa, Hannes, and their new dog Frankie. Hannes scored some waves for himself each day and then went to work as Lisa’s instructor. Mini-dog Frankie explore the jungle that was our front lawn all month, and also made friends with Beltscha and Jefe, our resident dogs. Hannes is ready for the artificial wave to be built in Mayrhofen!

A new guest from the land of Cheese and Chocolate is Tamara has surfed Australia and paid her dues there, knows all about the pecking order, and got in on the action straight away. Nice style on the late drops Tamara! Grip it and Rip it! Tamara convinced her flatmate Daniela to come to Seeker Surf Camp. Daniela transferred her climbing abilities to up and cruising on a fun board in just a week’s time. Lessons with Felipo definitely helped her through the foamie sessions into a more progressive shape. Our partner surf school has moved to our beach this month, and it will make for easy lesson arrangements through the peak summer months.

More from Team Ladies is Heidi, Ruza, Jade and myself. We definitely enjoyed some fun times over at the south end of the bay, and on some lucky occasions, some fun ones here on the homebreak with dolphins! Good job to all the sessions surfed, and waves caught! Enough of this talk, the tide is high and surf's up! We still have some availability into peak season. The video is out! Big ups to Julian for putting together a sick edit. He even caught me on a wave! Filming and shooting is no joke, and I confess that I’ve been surfing way more than I’ve been shooting. But it’s ok! It’s was my birthday month so I did whatever I wanted! Which basically is surfing eating chilling and sleeping!

Team Swiss came around for the last week of the month, and we had a big mix of old and new friends in the house! We went down the home bay for a surf session, and we saw dolphins! Unfortunately, Dani screamed, “It’s a whale!” And she got offended and left. haha. Dani thanks for getting every Team Swiss member to sign the skate deck for my birthday, and also double thanks for donating money to our Support Ghana efforts!  I now nominate you as Team Captain for the best team performance ever at Seeker Surf Camp!

Surfwise, this May has been surprisingly mellow. I don’t feel beat up at all! We had some encouraging foamie days out here at the homebreak. Peaks down the home bay opened up more options when size picked up. I caught a birthday barrel. I’m claiming it and I don’t care that no one saw. We spent a couple of days away on the area’s beaches just to get some Vitamin D in us, and watch the tide go from low to high high.

Thanks for the feast Anastasia! Stuffed mushrooms and Jamón warpped Asparaguses! Doc Snyder is back with a proper tide chart for the house. YES. We’re working on high-fiving on a party wave tomorrow. Come surf with us already!
